The Panther Martin is a special model, because its blade is not attached to a
clevis bit is directly penetrated by the axis. That makes it start to turn very
easily but it also tends to twist the line very easily, luckily braided line
doesn't seem to mind. The drop shaped body is made of lead ( I'd say) making it
run nice and deep. Either because of that, or because the vibrations of the
special blade are very attractive it can produce a lot of bites. Without any
tuning the fish can throw the hook quite easily though, you should at least
remove one arm of the treble, better still mount a larger hook with a split ring.
Other manufacturers have started producing models with this special blade , i.e.
the Mepps XD.
