The Rooster Tail is an American model which is well suited for trout fishing
in moving water. The body is quite heavy, the oval leaf turns calm and close to
the body. It doesn't run quite as deep, as you might expect, because of the fly
dressed hook. The hooks might not be optimal and maybe you'll have to change
them.
The picture shows what the fly looks like after use.
It is available in numerous colour variations and I especially like the emphasis
put on the colouring of the fly and the body. That is something different than
the boring ribbed brass bodies invented(?) by Mepps and copied by everybody.
